EUROPE DAY (MAY 9TH)
Europe Day held on 9 May every year celebrates peace and unity in Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historical "Schuman declaration". At a speech in Paris in 1950, Robert Schuman, the then French foreign miniter, set out the idea for a new form of political cooperation in Europe, which would make war between Europe's nations unthinkable.
El Día de Europa, que se celebra el 9 de mayo de cada año, celebra la paz y la unidad en Europa. La fecha marca el aniversario de la histórica "Declaración humana". En un discurso en París en 1950, Robert Shuman, el entonces ministro francés de Relaciones Exteriores, expuso su idea de una nueva forma de cooperación política en Europa, que haría que la guerra entre naciones de Europa fuera impensable.
